Celeb News: Scarlett Johansson Wins Tony
October 7th, 2010
“Being a movie star is a quality that somebody sort of embodies, and being a celebrity is something that people recognize in you. I just hope to make good movies.”
- Scarlett Johansson
The 25 year old star of such movies as Lost in Translation (2003) and Match Point (2005) is on a roll. In June alone she won a Tony award for her foray into theater in the play A View From The Bridge, got a Teen Choice award nomination for he role in Iron Man 2 and kissed Sandra Bullock on stage at the MTV movie awards.
She said in her acceptance speech at the Tony’s:
“Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be on Broadway and here I am,” she said
God, however, was absent from her thank you list, which is not surprising considering what she proclaimed in 2009 on the Online magazine FemaleFirst:
“Some people can be so goofy, especially the ones that say, ‘I’d like to thank our Lord Jesus up above!’ I’m like, ‘For the love of God, keep your mouth shut. That’s why the world is so f***ed up because God is focusing solely on your career.”
